Life of the party. It’s a different kind of party now though, isn’t it? University parties gave way to children’s birthday parties – all candy sprinkles and glitter – then gave way again to quiet evenings on the couch with a fat bellied puppy in my lap. Netflix always asking, “Are you still watching?” And now, in sleepless midnight hours, stolen moments to stand at my easel – dripping paint on an old favourite dog at my feet. And I think, this is the life.
